blablacar will soon show you what comfortable & spontaneous travel means
Here in this article I would like to introduce you to a feature that would increase the comfort and variety of travel options. Blablacar is hopefully by now everyone a term. In other countries, however, similar services exist under a different name. If you are not sure or would like to understand the concept of blablacar better, you can find out more here: www.blablacar.de
The new function should be able to provide travel data in real time from the location. In practice, it may look like this.
You're sitting in a cafe near the train station and you want to go somewhere, there's no such thing as an exact destination. So you share your location with the app. If you enter the filter when you want to start at the latest and in what radius you are ready to visit the driver and his breakpoint, we take here just 1000m. All drivers expected to reach their breakpoint within the next hour
A) to let passengers get off or B) to let riders get in are then presented in the app.
So the app could hold the following information in the map ready: In 10min. Holds 200m distance Max = profile name from blablacar and continues to Hamburg. In 20min. Holds a Melinda at 500m distance and goes to Cologne.
At certain times you can map a lot of travel destinations. The user, I the interesting decide for Hamburg. I can now call the driver directly or send him a message via the blablacar app. In the case of the message, he can also see my profile right now. On the phone he could ask if you have already made many trips.
If he gives the phone by phone, I announce the desire to take it with me in the app. That's all. The ride is logged and you are on the safe side.
This has become comfortable and spontaneous.
You can pay as usual to the driver directly or via Paypal just to name two examples.
Target group, are people like you and me. Freelancers, photographers, adventurers, digital nomads. People who have a day off. People who have missed your connecting train and are looking for affordable options. The curious, but also commuters to keep their fixed costs low.
The technical infrastructure to put it into practice is possible, but highly dependent on the companies that can provide real-time transaction data and share it for the project. Of course, several companies offer themselves here. Especially navigation services with support of traffic data.
The Google that works out very well and in addition developer friendly is makes the whole easier.
Of course you can also do the programming yourself here in a team, but the own model will take a long time before the user can benefit from such a feature here.
I'm looking forward to seeing even better travel in the future with blablacar.
